VASSIS: Vermont Area Health Education Center (AHEC) Scholars Student Incentive Scholarship

State funded scholarships for UVM Medical students who commit to specializing in Primary Care and serving in an underserved area of Vermont upon graduation. Apply through VSAC.

VHWS: Vermont Student Assistance Corporation (VSAC) Health Care Workforce Scholarships

State funded scholarships for undergraduate and graduate Nursing students. Apply through VSAC.

SLRP: State Loan Repayment Program

Federally funded loan repayment for providers serving in a Health Professional Shortage Area. For MDs, Dos, APRNs, PAs, DDS and DMDs and Primary Care RNs. Apply through UVM AHEC.

ELR: Educational Loan Repayment Program

State funded loan repayment for MDs, Dos, APRNs, PAs, DDS and DMDs and Primary Care RNs and LPNs. Apply through UVM AHEC.

VEIP: Vermont Care Partners Education Investment Program

State funded loan repayment and tuition assistance for health care professionals who are working at Designated and Specialized Service Agencies. Apply through Vermont Care Partners

DD: Delta Dental

Privately funded Dental scholarships. Apply through Bi-State Primary Care Association

VDIS: VSAC Dental Incentive Scholarships

State scholarships for Dental students. Apply through VSAC.

National Resources

National Health Service Corps (NHSC)

NURSE Corps gives nurses nationwide the opportunity to turn their passion for service into a lifelong career through the NURSE Corps Scholarship Program and the NURSE Corps Loan Repayment Program. Learn more: NURSE Corps

The Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) Program

The PSLF program is available to employees of many government and not-for-profit organizations regardless of your specific job. The PSLF forgives the remaining balance on your Direct Loans after you have made 120 qualifying monthly payments under a qualifying repayment plan while working full-time for a qualifying employer.
