Tracking Health Insurance Coverage in Vermont

A record number of Vermonters have health insurance.

The State of Vermont conducts periodic household surveys of Vermont residents to measure the uninsured rate and coverage sources for insured residents and also collects information on relevant demographic, income, and employment characteristics. The surveys provide information that is useful to policymakers, program executives, advocates, health planners, and the general public related to identifying, designing, and evaluating healthcare reform programs to maintain and expand health insurance coverage in Vermont.

Reports and Presentations

The Vermont Household Health Insurance Survey was updated in 2021 to include questions to examine the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, gather additional information on health saving and health reimbursement accounts, and obtain detailed information about disproportionally affected populations and the financial impact of health care.
