Understanding ACEs: Building Self-Healing Communities

The Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE) Study transformed our understanding of the lifelong effects of childhood adversity. From physical and mental health to learning, behavior, productivity, and even early mortality, ACEs are now recognized as one of the most powerful predictors of lifelong outcomes.

This 3-hour training offers a foundational understanding of the science behind ACEs, toxic stress, and neurodevelopment—and explores how communities can come together to build resilience and promote healing. Participants will gain insight into the science, the stories, and the strategies that can support healing and systems change across families, schools, organizations, and communities.
