Harm Reduction through a Prevention Lens: Working Together to Promote Healthy Communities
In this session, we will look at the harm reduction approach through the lens of prevention professionals. Harm reduction is a philosophy and set of strategies that seeks to minimize harm associated with high-risk behaviors while supporting positive, incremental behavior change. This presentation, by Elizabeth Black, LADC, will include an overview of why harm reduction works, best practices for using harm reduction approaches, and how harm reduction can be effectively paired with prevention efforts to minimize the impact of addiction for both individuals and communities.
