Grounded in the Moment: A Self-Care Booster Series for Prevention Professionals - Session 1: Resourced & Rooted

In times of great uncertainty, self-care must move beyond theory and into action. Grounded in the Moment is a three-part experiential series designed to help substance misuse prevention professionals practice real-time regulation, reflection, and rejuvenation. Each 30-minute session is a guided self-care moment—rooted in the Community Resiliency Model (CRM), body-based awareness, and practical tools for immediate use.

Participants will experience a grounding activity, reflect on its impact, and receive a scripted slide deck to replicate the session with their own teams. These sessions are both a modeling and a mentoring opportunity—an invitation to restore your own energy and take that renewal back to their prevention organizations/coalitions.

Session 1: Resourced & Rooted - Finding steadiness in the midst of uncertainty

In our first session, we’ll reconnect with internal and external sources of calm using the Community Resiliency Model’s resourcing technique. Through guided visualization and somatic awareness, participants will identify their own anchors of safety—and leave with a printable “Resource Bank” tool for continued use.
