Basic Motivational Interviewing (Part 1 of 3)
Motivational interviewing (MI) is a client-centered, evidence-based, goal-oriented method for enhancing intrinsic motivation to change by exploring and resolving ambivalence with the individual. This active, skill-building workshop provides participants with knowledge of the spirit and micro skills of the model, and provides opportunities to practice the approach. Participants will complete the workshop with a good understanding of MI, and are encouraged to take the Intermediate and Advanced MI workshops to develop proficiency in this method.
For those interested, we have 3 sessions of motivational interviewing scheduled at Bennington Rescue. We've spaced them out to hopefully allow folks to attend as many as possible without having to try to get away for 3 days in a row. We have a few seats reserved to our crew and are opening the rest to the EMS, co-responders (law/fire), mental health, and SUD / recovery communities.
This is a free training series supported by grant funding through the New England Addiction Technology Transfer Center. Registration is required, please use the link below. This is part 1 of a 3-part training.
This training is eligible for 6 continuing education credits for NAADAC that will be provided by the New England Addiction Technology Transfer Center (ATTC). In order to be eligible to receive these credits, you must attend the training in its entirety.
