Leveraging Alliances and Cross-System Collaboration in Preventive Care
COURSE DESCRIPTION
Considering the multi-faceted impact of substance use disorder on a person’s life, it follows that cross-agency collaboration would be an effective strategy in supporting those living with substance use disorder. From partnerships with child welfare systems and criminal courts, we will discuss how creating a web of support is an important goal for substance use treatment providers. This event highlights research and data related to the efficacy of cross system collaboration and organizational partnering in Substance Use Treatment.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
At the end of this training participants will be able to:
- Describe the examples of cross-system collaboration and alliance brokering that has been found to increase support to people living with Substance Use Disorder.
- Recite at least four interventions, strategies, or resources they can offer clients who are living with Substance Use Disorder who may be experiencing suicidal thoughts.
- Explain how they can address and support these unique needs and considerations in their setting and practice.
For trainings that indicate Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are available, contact the organizer and/or the Vermont Office of Professional Regulation to verify that the credits will count toward the continuing education requirements of your licensure or certification.
