Addiction 101
Description
This training will provide foundational knowledge on addiction as a chronic medical condition and an overview of evidence-based interventions, including medications for addiction treatment (MAT).
Objectives
At the end of this training, participants will have the knowledge necessary to:
- Describe the prevalence of substance use disorders in the US.
- Define substance use disorders as chronic medical conditions.
- Identify at least 3 evidence-based treatment strategies.
- Recognize and respond to an opioid overdose.
For trainings that indicate Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are available, contact the organizer and/or the Vermont Office of Professional Regulation to verify that the credits will count toward the continuing education requirements of your licensure or certification.
