Role of Structural Determinants of Health on Access and Availability to Services
Practitioners in the field of public health are often called to safeguard the health and well-being of the people and populations they serve, particularly those who are most vulnerable. Working from a social determinants of health framework allows people to recognize and challenge systemic violence such as racism, poverty, homophobia or sexism that prevent participants from accessing quality care and services with the goal of ultimately centering the health and wellbeing of participants.
