The Science and the Art of Trauma-Informed Services
This training will provide participants with an integrated understanding of trauma-informed frameworks. Guided by SAMHSA’s TIP 57 (2014), this training explores the scientific foundations of trauma exposure, including neurophysiological, developmental, immunological, and epigenetic impacts. Participants will examine epidemiological data linking trauma exposure to substance use and mental health conditions. The training also introduces creative and experiential approaches to treatment, drawing on the three phases of trauma recovery (Herman, 1997), with a focus on enhancing safety, reducing risk of re-traumatization, and supporting adaptive responses to real-world stressors.
For trainings that indicate Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are available, contact your licensing or certification organization to verify that the credits will count toward the continuing education requirements.
