This seminar will focus on adult clients who have substance use disorders, emotional disorders, and personality disorders. The seminar will be based on Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Group Therapy techniques. Case examples will also be used to illustrate the therapy process.

- Assessing an adult client's motivation to change
- Exploring their level of insight
- Using therapy to help them become more active in the treatment process
- Clinical skills such as setting limits with acting out patients, and types of assessment questions to use will be presented.
