113th Report Relating to the Registry And Return of Births, Deaths, Marriages and Divorces
Welcome to the 1997 Vital Statistics Annual Report.
This is the second edition of this pilot project to test the usefulness and feasibility of publishing this report on our Web page. In the 1996 edition we asked for feedback from you to gain insight and experience in preparation for a complete redesign of the 1997 report. In spite of the fact that an average of 20 readers a week have visited the 1996 edition, we received suggestions from only two readers. Please give us your reaction to this method of publishing, particularly your suggestions of what you like and dislike about this presentation.
You can select any summary, table, or graph by
scrolling through the Table of Contents below and clicking on the
topic that interests you. The Table of Contents is organized in
several major sections (Population, Births, Deaths, etc.). At the
beginning of each major section is a brief summary, followed by a
list of all tables in that section. Then there are sub-sections that
show just the tables on a particular topic, such as Prenatal Care or
10 Leading Causes of Death. A few of the graphics that appear in the
printed book do not appear in this version. Following the major
sections there is a special section that gathers together all tables
that display county and town data. Appendixes A-E come after the
county/town listings.
You should be able to print out any text, table, or graph using your browser. If not, you may be able to copy and paste a table into another program, such as a word processor or spreadsheet, and print it from there.
