VT Alcohol & Drug Resources

The Vermont Department of Health, Division of Alcohol and Drug Abuse Programs (ADAP) has welcomed its past opportunities to serve Vermonters with materials from the Vermont Alcohol and Drug Information Clearinghouse (VADIC). We thank you for your patronage and would like to update you on a change we have made to this service.

While the mission of the clearinghouse - to provide communities with available information and resources for the prevention and/or treatment of alcohol and other drug issues - will remain the same, the actual operation of the VADIC has been transferred to a new provider, Friends of Recovery - Vermont (FOR-VT)

FOR-VT anticipates a formal opening of the VADIC to the general public sometime in September, 2009. During the brief transition period, FOR-VT has requested that Vermonters contact them for information with enough advance notice so that they may sift through many boxes of materials to fulfill the request.

Temporarily, you may contact FOR-VT by email or phone (1-800-769-2798) to place an order. A new website for the VADIC is forthcoming. This will include an online ordering process.

As always, the local ADAP Prevention Consultants will have alcohol and other drug materials and information available in each local VDH district office for the district office staff, their clients and the local community.

In addition, ADAP will continue to link to the information resources below. This includes national vendors of pamphlets, posters, books, curricula, and content-specific information. You can use the materials resources page for ordering large quantities of materials.

Corbett Sionainn is the ADAP program contact for the clearinghouse. If you have any questions about the VADIC and the transition to a new provider, you can reach her by email or phone (802-652-4150) for assistance.
