Essential public health services are carried out across the state through our 12 local health offices. The local health offices work in partnership with health care providers, volunteer agencies, schools, businesses and coalitions and organizations in their communities to improve health and extend public health initiatives across the state.
where does the health department fit in state government?
As part of the Agency of Human Services, we work with the Departments of Mental Health, Children and Families (DCF), Disabilities, Aging and Independent Living (DAIL), Corrections, and the Vermont Health Access (DVHA) to improve the health and well-being of Vermonters.
