Information for You

Beneath Our Skin is a storytelling project for Black Vermonters.

The Vermont Youth Risk Behavior Survey was developed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to monitor priority health risk behaviors that contribute to the leading causes of death, disease, injury and social problems among youth. The Health Department and the Agency of Education sponsor this survey.

Secondhand smoke comes from burning tobacco products, like cigarettes, cigars, hookahs or pipes. It’s also what’s exhaled, or breathed out, by the person smoking.

Most Vermonters who smoke want to quit. You may be one of them, or know someone who is trying to quit tobacco. With the right tools and support, you can do it.

Asthma-friendly schools are ones that take steps to create environments that help students with asthma to grow, learn, and succeed, and prevent asthma attacks and missed school days.

The Health Department works to support and engage adolescents in promoting their own health and healthy development.
