IMPORTANT UPDATE: Report of COVID-19 Case at Mountain View Center
No positive case at the facility – Test result was a false positive

Burlington, VT – At Governor Phil Scott’s press conference today, a reporter asked about a rumored positive case of COVID-19 associated with Mountain View Center located in Rutland.

Health Commissioner Mark Levine, MD stated that there was a positive case, and that facility-wide testing was being planned. Unfortunately, Dr. Levine was not aware of additional information learned this morning – that the test result was determined to be a false positive.

Mountain View Center DOES NOT have a positive case, and the facility-wide testing has been cancelled. The patient was retested with a new specimen, and the original specimen was also re-tested. Both specimens were negative.

At this time, there are no known positive cases at any of the affiliated facilities in Rutland, including both Mountain View Center and Rutland Health & Rehabilitation Center.
