Asthma Data
To examine our progress in meeting the our objectives, we rely on several sources to collect asthma-related data. The Asthma Program currently uses the following data sets to track risk factors for asthma, and measure the prevalence of asthma and its severity:
- The Vermont Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance Survey (BRFSS)
- The asthma-related questions from the BRFSS includes prevalence data, risk factor data, emergency room visit data, and information on the use of asthma written management plans in Vermont adults.
- The Vermont Hospital Discharge data set - a data set including information on all hospital discharges in the state.
Vermont Vital Statistics data set
- Vermont Asthma Mortality 1980–1999
- Vermont Emergency Room data set
Asthma Publications—The Vermont Asthma Program has produced publications on the prevalence and burden of asthma in Vermont.
