Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System Maps & Trends
The Vermont Department of Health routinely uses three geographies to assess population indicators at the local level: by county, by Health Department district office area, and by hospital service area (HSA). These Maps & Trends links direct you to interactive InstantAtlas™ pages, with maps by these geographies as well as tables and graphs for many health indicators using BRFSS and other data sources.

The Healthy Vermonters 2020 initiative includes the largest collection of webpages with BRFSS indicators. These are organized by health topic such as 'Cancer' or 'Access to Care.' Additional indicators of interest are available as well and these include many demographic measures or the prevalence of a disease or a behavior.
Tip: To see other indicator pages within the same geography, click on the Additional Indicators button in the top left hand corner of the report. To change geographies, click on the buttons in the middle of the reports or navigate back to this page. To change health topics, navigate back to this page.
About Survey Data
With any survey data there is a margin of error. When looking at the BRFSS results please keep in mind there should be a margin of at least five percentage points between areas for the differences to represent something other than random variation. When there are few survey interviews available, the difference should be 10 or more percentage points.
Healthy Vermonters 2020
Released in 2013, Healthy Vermonters 2020 contains over 120 health indicators that are used by the Vermonter Department of Health to monitor the health status of Vermonters. The BRFSS data is used to monitor 34 of these indicators included in the health topics below. Click on Additional Indicators to find the relevant BRFSS measures.
