Information for You

In 2006, the Vermont Legislature authorized the Vermont Department of Health to establish and operate a Prescription Drug Monitoring Program (PDMP).

Stopping alcohol use or drug use is just the beginning of the recovery process. People in recovery must learn new ways to cope with daily life. Learning these new skills is essential work.

The Board investigates complaints of unprofessional conduct and may issue reprimands or revoke, suspend or place conditions on professional licenses and certifications, or take action where appropriate to protect public health and safety.

People in crisis are given preference for admission into treatment. Pregnant injecting drug users have first priority for treatment and are to be seen within 48 hours of their first contact.
