Act 157 Interim Working Group on Protecting Immunocompromised Students and Students with Special Health Needs
Act 157 of the 2011-2012 General Assembly directed the commissioners of the Departments of Education and Health to convene a working group to:
- make recommendations on how to protect immunocompromised students and students with special health needs
- study the feasibility of allowing these students to enroll in a public school maintained by an adjoining school district, where the adjoining school district has a higher immunization rate than the school maintained by the student’s school district of residence
- assess the necessity and practicability of requiring adults employed at schools to be fully immunized
Working Group Report to the Vermont Legislature
The working group submitted its December 28, 2012 report of findings and recommendations to the Senate Committee on Health and Welfare, and to the House Committee on Health Care.
